Spending time with my children, poetry, DANCING, kayaking, hiking, cooking, anything out doorsy.

I love girly movies and Full Metal Jacket, and comedies that make sense.

I can listen to anything with a message. I also love classical. I don't think anyone can say they love music then limit themselves to the type.

uhhhh, this really fantastic woman suggested it to me! :)

EMichele is the President/Founder of PoeticWorks Bookstore and Publishing Co., author of "Yes Girl...Even YOU!!!", and a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marines.

She was born February 29, 1972 and raised in Beaumont, Texas. She comes from a single parent home but attributes her upbringing to the teachings (and butt whippings) of her grandparents, Elizabeth and Wilbur Howard. She is a single mother of 2 young sons, and a sister to 2 younger brothers who currently reside in San Diego and a younger sister who lives in Houston, Tx.

In June 1990 (1 day after graduating from West Brook High School) she joined the United States Marine Corps. Her career has taken her all over the world from Guantamo Bay, Cuba, Okinawa, Japan, to Al Taqqadum, Iraq. She has also been stationed in several different states in the US from South Carolina to Oceanside, CA and several places in between. She has been blessed with meeting some awesome people who through the years she has established lifelong friendships with. She also considers herself privileged to be able to serve her country in what she and 1over 200,000 of her closest friends consider the best military organization to defend freedom!

She considers her ability to be able to write and perform poetry a special gift and has used her ability to speak to hundreds of people on speaks on topics that are near to her heart. She has performed on radio and television and at several events around the United States such as Elevated, San Diego’s Poetry Slam, The Conscience Comedy Explosion, the Coffee House on Broadway, The Other Side, San Diego State Univeristy, Jambalaya Jamboree in Durham, NC, and many open mics, libraries, and community events.

She also organized a Community Action Project called CommonUnity Poetry that teaches the art of Spoken Word to inner city youth. This project offers the youth an outlet to emotions that may otherwise be subdued by the perceptions that society dictate to our youth by means of TV, negative music and stereotypes. A plan is currently being designed for the project and it should be in full swing April 2010.

he asked me to try some other spots hosting in the future so i guess i did none too shabby.  it is funny you say that about the singin'.  i got a request that night for me to do a piece, whatever piece so long as i sang in it.  i was caught of guard but none too disappointed.  jus' earlier that day i had been pondering that i KNOW i am meant to write songs.  not sure how much i am meant to do vocals though.  i guess God ALWAYS be talkin' to us...

i pray Nov. comes at lightning speeds for u.
