CROWD PARTICIPATION IS A MUST: sing the national anthem, hoola-hoop, the word game,
the song game and many other activities [ALL ON STAGE] to win prizes, gift bags,
tickets to other shows and yes, even MONEY [Real money, not Monopoly money]
If u don't win, bow ur head and take the walk of sham back to ur seat...knowing u just had a
great time making a spectacle of urself. BUT IT'S ALL IN FUN AND GAMES...AND LOVE.

the big shots roll thru this joint: various def jam poets, malcolm jamal warner, georgia me,
black ice, ise lyfe, oblivion, and countless others, and the 8x Tony Award Winner,
Poetri, who just happens to be the host, so u will see his shenanigans weekly.
then there are the 'make u fall out laughing and bump your head and get temporary
amnesia' comedians.

Can't forget 'open mic'. Spoken Funk has that too. And if u r lucky enough,
u might see urs truly. I am a regular there, so u might see me short circuit the mic
and rip off the roof. Spoken Funk is like a box of chocolates, u never know what u r
gonna get, but u can bet it's gonna be good. After u get ur praise on in church,

Def Jam Poets Shihan and Poetri. Big ups to the DJ, Brutha Gimel, not only can he cut
a record like nobody's business, but he's also an exceptional word smith. Sometimes it's $5,
sometimes it's FREE. Come for the 1st half...and stay for the 2nd half...NO EXTRA COST.
Can't beat that wit a baseball bat.

Da Poetry Lounge is mainly an open mic forum. 2 regulars include my man, def jam poet,
IN-Q, and TSHAKA. 2 of the best poets in da game, ya heard me! Oh and yes, urs truly.
I grace the stage from time to time.

3 hrs. of slammin' poetry/spoken word and ALL OUT FUN for less than the price of a
Foot Long Subway Sandwich. Take what I'm saying as Gospel, it's dog nuts, yall.
