We are themeccalounge.com, an online writing Community geared towards up and coming writers, spoken word artists, poets, authors, and expressionists of color. Since our inception in November of 2005, we have been committed to uplifting and encouraging our Community Members through constructive criticism, promotion of Members and their writing and musical projects, and maintaining our close-knit and exclusive family-like atmosphere.
Beginning in August of 2007 we launched our weekly internet radio show that focuses on verbalizing what our Writing Community is committed to bringing. We look to focus on and showcase the hottest up and coming authors, poets, spoken word talents, and promote black bookstores. We are proud to be networking with Michele and her staff here at poeticworks.com and appreciate Michelle for all of her sacrifices as she protects our country. We look forward to continuing poeticworks.com and our relationship moving forward.

Our radio show has recently been named a nominee for a Black Web Award in the "Best Internet Podcast Or Radio Show" category. All of us are excited about the nomination because of the thorough process that the board at the Black Web Awards goes through to choose their nominees. We also are in the company of excellent radio shows/podcasts, so we know that winning will be difficult.
